Accor to open five more hotels
JAKARTA: The Accor Group, which operates four- and five-star hotels such as Novotel and Mercure, is strengthening its standing in Indonesia by developing five more hotels in big cities in the country.
The five new hotels will consist of three Novotels and two Mercure hotels, a media release said on Wednesday, including the first Accor Premiere Vacation Club (APVC) property in the country, located in Bali -- which will form part of the Novotel Nusa Dua Bali.
The remaining hotels will be Novotel Bandung with 150 rooms, Novotel Tarakan (175 rooms) Mecure Batam (160 rooms) and Mercure Surabaya (110 rooms).
The new hotels will increase Accor properties in Indonesia to 38 hotels and resorts in operation by the end of next year, with the number expected to exceed 50 by the end of 2007. -- JP
