Accor picks Miss Novotel
JAKARTA (JP): French hotel operator Accor Asia Pacific said on Tuesday that it would hold the grand final of the Miss Novotel tourism Ambassador Contest 1999 on Jan. 28.
Accor's director of operations for Indonesia Oswald Pichler said local contests were held simultaneously in all 12 Novotel hotels across the country.
The grand final, to be held at Padi Padi Cafe in Kemang, South Jakarta, will select the national winner from the 12 local winners to become an ambassador to woo potential tourists to Indonesia.
The grand final was previously planned for Sept. 24, 1999, but it was postponed due to the tense security situation at the time.
Accor, partly owned by Paris-based hotel management giant Accor SA, currently runs 30 hotels and apartments in the country with more than 4,600 rooms under several names, including Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure and Ibis. (gis)
