A Xmas Sonnet

Let me sing to you a carol of joy
A rejoice to all believers
The Son of God is born
To redeem our sins

Let me recite to you scriptures of joy
A rejoice to all believers
God has sent his Son
To cleanse the world of all our sins

A heavenly host sings hallelujah
hordes of folks, young and old
pining in unison for peace and happiness

May the Xmas that heralds a new millennium
bring real peace and happiness
in heaven and, particularly, on earth

The Bell

One minute after midnight
I heard somebody
ringing my door's bell.
She
or
he,
must, have been standing in the rain
for I did not hear any car
or motorcycle.
Nor did I hear any gates opening

The bell ding-donged. And ding-donged.
And then, dingdongdingdongdingdonggg...

Ten past midnight.
It was quiet again outside
'cept for the rain
and the wind that swayed it about.

The sound of my neighbor's bell
is very similar to the one
at my house.
After all, we are neighbors.
We are bound to have something in common
