A voice for Ambon

JAKARTA (JP): Various artists are joining hands in presenting
a charity musical show for the devastated city of Ambon on
Friday, starting from 7 p.m. at Tenda Semanggi, the cafe tents
located at the Stock Exchange compound in South Jakarta.

"A Voice For Ambon" was organized to raise relief funds for
Ambon and to direct the government's attention to the continuing
violence flooding the province.

The famous musicians and celebrities participating include
Sania, Glenn, Dewi Sandra, Dik Doank and Karang Taruna, Melly
Manuhutu, Funny, the vocalist from the group Swallow, Keepay, the
guitarist from Swallow, and Ridho Hafies, the guitarist from
Slank. They will perform together on three different stages in
the compound.

This event was a combined inspiration of many Indonesian
artists in association with Jakarta's University Student
Association.

An auction will be held during the event, offering ethnic
artwork from Ambon, including pearl rings, woven fabric, shell
frames and many more.

On the same night, pop band GIGI will start their three-day
performance at Theater Tanah Airku in the Taman Mini Indonesia
Indah complex.

In the concert titled Baik, the title taken from their sixth
album, GIGI will spoil fans with the help of the Sa'unine String
Quartet from Yogyakarta. The quartet will play a combination of
violin and cello to give the event an acoustic and electric
nuance.
