A pair of small birds

As the sun went down yesterday
a pair of small birds perched at my window,
both looked remarkably suspicious
but why staring at me?

"Are you looking for a nest?"
I asked them concernedly,
although they nodded their heads,
no answer they gave, anyway.

"I offer you a shelter for the night,"
I told them softly,
but, no sooner had I finished my words
than the two flew away.

This morning a hunter passed by,
carrying two dead birds,
I was shocked and asked him why
the human species is so heartless?

How could he have been so cruel,
to kill such small creatures,
whose flesh is too little,
to satisfy his hunger and thirst?

Morning Dew

A drop of morning dew
on a young leaf,
looks so pure
just like tears

A drop of morning dew
on a young leaf.
Is it a shedded tear
from our sobbing world?

A drop of morning dew
on a young leaf.
I watch it every day
before the sun takes it away

A drop of morning dew
on a young leaf.
Is it possibly a poem
written by the Almighty?
