A gift from Dutch community
JAKARTA (JP): The Dutch business community will present a gift
to Indonesia in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the
Republic's independence
The gift is in the form of the renovation and restoration of
the National Archives Building, a 18th century monument located
on Jl. Gajah Mada, Central Jakarta, the Dutch embassy announced
in a written statement.
The gift will be handed over to Indonesia on Tuesday afternoon
in a ceremony in the presence of Queen Beatrix of the
Netherlands. The ceremony will take place at "Pameran Produksi
Indonesia," in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta
A dinner and cultural performances will be held at the
National Archives Building later in the day.
The event will be attended by Dutch Minister for Economic
Affairs G.J. Wijers, a number of Dutch industrialists visiting
Indonesia as well as a large group of representatives from the
Indonesian cultural and business community. (bas)
