A Dream I Dare to Dream

If I were president of the world, I would pass a decree, Every man, woman and child, Must plant at least one tree.

No global citizenship would be given, Until this law had been fulfilled, The tree must be nurtured, With tenderness and loving care, Until full stature had been achieved.

As president of the world, I would initiate, Free education for all, In the ways of planet Earth, And the rights of all mankind, Kindness, Understanding and Tolerance, Along with the basics would be taught, A curriculum designed, To forge a better world

As president of the world, I would forbid the manufacture of weapons, And ban wars of any kind, Wanton destruction of Mother Earth, Would be a punishable offense, Twenty years to be served, In environmental restoration and repair, Plus works that be deemed, For the good of all mankind,

Greed and corruption, would become, Mankind's dark history, Our Children would grow and mature, In a world of love, light and truth, Free of despair and the pain of misery.

Such is the legacy, That I dare to dream, For respect and love should rule, Our actions here on Earth, The plant and animal kingdoms, Have as much right as we, It is up to man as caretakers, To learn to give and share,

I believe that all living things have a place, And need to develop, Without unnecessary interference, As long as all is done with love, And no intentional hurt, But with respect and acceptance, Of lives and cultures diverse,

Then we can say we truly deserve, The title of "human" Caregivers of all here on Earth. Living and sharing democratically, For as it stands at this time, Inhumanity, Intolerance, the cruel and unkind, Rule the world, And the collective mind.

If magic I had all this would come true, In the blink of an eye, As I speak these healing words, Such is the dream I have dared to dream ... Alas, it is not in my lifetime, Something I will be privileged to see, But live with hope, That such visions will one day, Be, the future way of life, For all humanity.
