A Country Called Yes

In a country, which is called Yes,

There lives a man by the name of Yes.

He weds a woman whose name is the same

The two have offspring and Yes are their names

The man works at the office Yes

While his wife is a secretary at a private company Yes Ltd.

The oldest child is now a student of University of Yes

While the youngest is still at Kindergarten Yes

They read a local daily, Yes,

and another Yes daily coming from the capital city

which, usually prints news stories under headings Yeses

Plus analysis all about Yes

One day after reading the two dailies the husband said to his wife: "Yes."

The wife answered: "Yes!"

He asked her: "Yes?"

Her reply was: "Yes!"

In doubt, he asked again: "Oh, Yes?"

She assured him: "Yes!"

Arriving at his office, the husband asked his colleagues: "Yes?"

All of them quickly answered: "Yes!"

At her office his wife also asked the same question

to her colleagues, for which she got the same "Yes."

When the oldest son returned from school, the parents asked:

"Yes?"

The son gave no other answer but "Yes."

When he asked the same question to his younger brothers and sisters, in unison they all said: "Yes."

But, despite their positive answer, they still asked themselves the meaning of Yes.

So they turned on the TV, which showed Station Yes, busy with commercial programs entitled Yes, Yes, Yes. Switching to other channels, all bearing the same name, were presenting news items with the headlines Yes, Yes, Yes.

But wait a moment! At the end of the news, the attractive female news presenter, called Yes, read an important item about the arrest of a citizen, who had been proven to have a name No. This man was charged with repeatedly saying "no," in public.
