A and B: Operation

CLEAN SWEEP: The results of the first ten days of Operation
Cleansing were put on display yesterday afternoon at the East
Jakarta military headquarter. Some of the operation's personnel
were studying the haul which was displayed on the front lawn of
the headquarter. More than 38,000 bottles of spirits were
confiscated from unlicensed shops and cafes. Five firearms,
illegal drugs and more than one hundred sharp weapons were seized
(left). There have been 478 criminals and drunkards captured
during the operation. Some of the captured were displayed on the
veranda at the garrison. (right).

C: Bomb

EMBASSY SCARE: Scores of onlookers, many of whom peeped between
the bars of the iron partition, watched members of the police
bomb squad secure a box allegedly containing bomb, yesterday. The
bomb squad was called to the American Embassy compound after they
received a suspicious parcel. The box was reportedly sent by a
person who claimed to be a dentist from Solo, Central Java.
