82 arrested for selling porn discs

JAKARTA: Jakarta Police have arrested 82 people and seized
1,742 digital video discs (DVDs) and 71,421 compact video discs
(VCDs) containing pornographic material in raids in September and
October.

City police special crimes chief Sr. Comr. Edmon Ilyas told a
press conference on Thursday that the majority of arrests were
made in Mal Pinangsia, Mangga Dua and Gajah Mada Plaza in West
Jakarta and Jatinegara in East Jakarta.

The suspects will be charged with violating Article 282 of the
Criminal Code on pornography, which carries a maximum punishment
of 32 months' imprisonment. -- JP
