7 killed in road mishap

CIREBON, West Java: Six passengers of a bus and a truck driver assistant have been killed, and five other people seriously injured, in a traffic accident in Indramayu, on Thursday.

A local police officer told Antara that the accident occurred in the vicinity of Lohbener village. The truck en route from Cirebon to Jakarta was moving at a high speed, swerved, scraped a becak (rickshaw) and then rammed into the back of the parked passenger bus.

The bodies of the seven people and the injured victims have all been brought to the Indramayu Public Hospital. (imn)
