7 countries to vie in hang gliding tour

JAKARTA (JP): South Africa, the United States, Australia,
Belgium, England, Yugoslavia and host Indonesia have confirmed
participation in the Indonesia Open Hang Gliding and Microlight
Championship at Adi Sumarmo Airport in Surakarta, Central Java,
from Aug. 16 to Aug. 26.

"We have invited 20 countries from Asia, Europe and America,
but so far only seven countries including Indonesia have
confirmed participation in the event," said organizing committee
chairman Budiutomo.

"The Indonesian Aerosport Federation (FASI) plans to register
the event with the International Aeronautics Federation (FAI).
With a minimum of four participating countries, we hope the event
will be a success to enable us stage it next year," he said.
