5,000 illegal VCDs seized

TANGERANG: The police have impounded at least 5,000 pirated VCDs from 20 vendors in four locations here.

The raids were conducted at Lippo Supermall in Karawaci, Mahkota Mas shopping center on Jl. M.H. Thamrin, the Robinson department store on Jl. Daan Mogot and along the street of Jl. Ki Asnawi on Wednesday afternoon.

One of the street vendors, Tony Iskandar, who sells VCDs on Jl. Ki Asnawi said that he was not aware that his merchandise was illegal.--JP
