50 firms to join oil expo

JAKARTA (JP): More than 50 companies and 450 delegates from around the world will take part in an international oil and gas industry exhibition and conference which starts on Tuesday.

Organizing committee spokesman Khairul Rizal said on Monday that the Mega Petro Event (MPE) was aimed to lure more investors into the industry.

"The event will be more focused on the oil and gas outsourcing industry," he said.

The exhibition would be held for four days, while the conference would be for three days, Khairul said.

In the exhibition, the 50 exhibitors, including oil companies Caltex Pacific Indonesia, Beyond Petroleum Indonesia, Gulf Indonesia Resources, state oil and gas company Pertamina and outsourcing firms PT Ekanuri, PT Sucofindo, Inixindo and Welltekindo would display their latest technologies, he said.

The delegates for the conference would come mainly from Indonesia, the U.S., Australia, and Japan, and would discuss new procurement methods in the oil and gas outsourcing industry, he added.

MPE has been organized by the Indonesian Association of Petroleum Outsourcing Industries (APPI).(05)
