46 kgs of ganja seized in Tangerang
JAKARTA (JP): Police have seized 46.15 kilograms of dried marijuana estimated to have the street value of at least Rp 90 million (US$13,000) from four suspected drug dealers in a single raid in Tangerang.
Tangerang police chief Lt. Col. Pudji Hartanto on Friday identified the suspects in the raid, that began on Thursday evening until early on Friday, as businessman Efmi Redi, alias Amin Rais, 26, businessman Maimun, 36, of Curug, Zuraini Abdul Gani, 26, and his 19-year-old brother, Zunedi Abdul Gani. All of them live at the Bumi Kelapa Dua housing complex in Curug.
"We firstly arrested Efmi, based on a tip-off at the housing complex's market, with a quarter kilo of ganja. From him, we got Maimun's role and address.
"My officers then went to the latter's home on Jl. Kano Raya (in the same complex). There we got Maimun and the other two guys."
The 46 kilograms of ganja, he said, was packed in 33 brown packages hidden under beds and inside the drawers at Maimun's residence. (ylt)
