TIMIKA, Irian Jaya: The Irian Jaya military command pulled out on Saturday a total of 394 combat troops posted here, Antara reported.

Trikora Military Commander Maj. Gen. Amir Sembiring said the reduction in the number of troops assigned to the area was part of the Armed Forces (ABRI) new territorial operations.

"Through the new operation, namely territorial operations, the operations of ABRI in Maluku and Irian Jaya will be focused on developing villages," he said. (aan)
