38 grenades found in Yogyakarta

YOGYAKARTA: Suharyanto, 30, from Gamping, Sleman regency, Yogyakarta, discovered on Saturday 38 grenades in the area. The explosives, black round objects, each with a fuse, were spotted when Suharyanto, a construction worker, dug up soil in an area of land belonging to his neighbor, Bambang Sugiarto.

While digging the soil, Suharyanto's hoe struck a metal object, which he reported to Sugiarto, who then told the local police. They confirmed that the metal items were grenades, and were probably a leftover from the Dutch colonial period. -- Antara
