350 to participate in writers' meet

SURABAYA: Some 350 writers, cultural observers and academics from eight countries will take part in the 13th Nusantara Writers' Meeting (PNS) to take place here between Sept. 27 and Sept. 30.

"Most of them will come from Indonesia and Malaysia," the event's chief organizer, Shoim Anwar, said on Saturday.

The others come from Brunei Darussalam, Singapore, Madagascar, Thailand, Sri Lanka and South Africa, he said.

The main item on the agenda of the meeting is to discuss literary development in each country, he said.

The PSN was held for the first time in 1977. Singapore hosted the last meeting in 2002. --Antara
