31 RI brands get Superbrand status

JAKARTA: A further 31 brands available in Indonesia were awarded Superbrands status by the world's leading independent arbiter of branding during a ceremony in Jakarta on Thursday.

Founded in London 12 years ago, the Superbrands Organization has recognized and publicized the achievements of thousands of outstanding brands worldwide.

The latest Indonesian brands honored were: ACA Insurance, Adhimix Precast, Antagin JRG, Bank BNI, Bank BRI, Bank Ekonomi, Baskin Robbins, Ceres, Ciputra, Equil, Filma, Gudang Garam, ICI Dulux, Khong Guan, Kino the Innovator, Kokita, Kopi Singa, MLC Life, Monde, Natur Slim, Nissin, Paseo, Radio Prambors, RS. Omni Medical Center, Sanken, Securicor, SoKlin, Tiga Roda, Wings and Yellow Pages.

Superbrands International managing director Eamonn Sadler said the Indonesian Superbrands Council, comprising leading Indonesian or Indonesian-based figures, selected the brands using a set of strict criteria, including market dominance, longevity, customer loyalty, goodwill and overall market acceptance.

The brands join 28 others, including Adidas, Nokia and Indofood, who were previously selected.

A total of 100 brands are expected to be named Superbrands. -- JP
