30 BPK staff auditing IBRA
JAKARTA: The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) has deployed 30 auditors to examine the performance of the now-defunct Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency (IBRA).
Deputy chairman for state finance institutions Bambang Wahyudi said that the auditors had been auditing IBRA for 14 months and it would take at least another two months to complete the audit on IBRA's performance.
"For the next two months, we will concentrate on completing the audit on IBRA's performance," he said.
The performance audit will be followed by an audit of IBRA's final balance sheet.
IBRA, which was formed to restructure the country's banking industry following the devastating economic crisis, was dissolved on Feb. 27. -- JP
