29 RI youths travel on Nippon Maru Ship
SURABAYA: A total of 29 Indonesian youths will join the Southeast Asia Ship Travel program, organized by the Japanese government from Sept. 9 through Oct.13.
They be among 300 youths from 10 countries in Southeast Asia and Japan.
Spokesperson for the Japanese embassy Sachiko Furuya said Friday that the 29 youths were selected from provinces across Indonesia.
The Nippon Maru Ship would call off at the Tanjung Priok seaport, North Jakarta, from Sept. 16 through Sept.19.
Sachiko said the ship would stop at ports where participants would be involved in cultural discussions.
The ship travel program has been regularly conducted since 1974 based on an agreement between Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand. -- Antara
