277 Cambodians repatriated

GALANG, Riau: Indonesia repatriated 277 more Cambodian refugees from this island on Sunday, Antara reported yesterday.

The refugees sailed for home on KRI Teluk Sampit, a tank- landing ship belonging to the Indonesian Navy, after a farewell ceremony led by Maj. Gen. Arie Kumaat.

The latest repatriation has reduced the number of Indochinese refugees on the island near Singapore to 3,331.

The refugees repatriated under the orderly return program are expected to arrive at Compong Som port tomorrow. (pan)
