25 to study human rights in Norway

JAKARTA: The Ministry of Justice and Human Rights will send 25 Indonesians to learn about conflict resolution and peace in Norway, a government official says.

Human rights director general Hafid Abbas said on Monday that the group, comprising activists, local figures and officials from across the country, was expected to support resolutions of a number of conflicts involving human rights here.

Norwegian Ambassador Bjorn Blokhus said Norway supported Indonesia in developing human rights through practical workshops.

"We're no longer just talking about it -- this could give people the capacity to act locally," he said during a press conference. --JP
