25 to go free on Independence day

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: Of the 166 convicts due to get
remissions on Monday, 25 will receive sentence reductions which
will end their incarceration and lead to their immediate release.

Head of the provincial Justice Office Rizal Manan was quoted
by Antara as saying here yesterday that the sentence reductions
would be given in conjunction with the Aug. 17 independence day
celebrations.

He added that six prisoners would get an extra one month
reduction in their sentences because they were regular blood
donors during their time inside.

He expressed hope that the 25 to be released will go on to
become worthy members of society. (01)
