25 hurt in Dago student brawl

BANDUNG: Dozens of students from two high schools in Bandung were involved in a mass street brawl on Jl. Dago on Friday, leaving 25 students injured.

They were taken to Santo Boromeus Hospital.

The students were from SMU Negri I and SMU Kristen. The two schools are situated adjacent to each other and separated only by a wall.

The cause of the incident was unclear, police said. Students were engaged in an hour-long fight which involved the throwing of rocks and Molotov cocktails.

Bandung Police detective chief Lt. Col. Amrozi said that 10 students were detained for questioning following the fracas. (43/edt)
