25 assault suspects sent to prosecutors

JAKARTA: After more than two months of investigation, the city
police handed over on Thursday the files on 25 suspects involved
in an attack on the offices of the developer of the Permata Buana
housing complex in Kembangan, West Jakarta.

The police also handed the detainees over to the Jakarta
Prosecutor's Office.

"The prosecutors said they will soon be ready to bring the
case to the court," said the head of violence crime and assault
division of the Jakarta Police, Adj. Sr. Comr. Firli Bahuri.

Firli said that the suspects had been charged under Articles
160, 167, 170 and 406 of the Criminal Code on instigation,
trespassing, mass assault and damage to property respectively.

In the melee on May 29, at least 100 men attacked the company
offices, burning virtually all documents in the building and
smashing windows. Several people were reportedly injured in the
