23 survivors in Kendari accident

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: Search and rescue teams on Monday said they have found 23 survivors from the KM Citra Baru ship which sank on May 30 near Wawonii Island some 49 kilometers southeast of Kendari.

The bodies of nine people have been discovered while 17 others are still missing. The ship was carrying 49-passengers when it went down.

The cause of the incident is still unknown, Antara reported.

The ship was bound for Surabaya, East Java from Masohi Island, North Maluku.(10)
