220 youths join sailing training

JAKARTA (JP): At least 220 students joined the 1998 Youth
Sailing Training using five tall ships on the Java sea for three
days, ending on Monday.

The program was launched by Navy chief Adm. Kushariadi at
Tanjung Priok port on Saturday to mark the International Year of
the Seas.

The five vessels involved in the training program were the
country's famous Dewaruci tall ship, Arung Samudera, Taruna Laut
I, Arsa I and Phinisi Nusantara.

The vessels sailed from Tanjung Priok port to Krakatau. (bay)
