2003 billiard league commences

JAKARTA: The A Mild Billiard League began the 2003 season here
on Tuesday with fourteen clubs set to play in the three-week-
long, knock-out competition, which ends in August.

Aired live on ANTV, the matches are played at the Bung Karno
Billiard Center every Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 11 p.m., a media
statement said.

The clubs come from six cities and towns. Among them are 2002
champion Terminal Kemakmuran and 2002 runner-up XBC from Banten.
While both have secured berths in the league automatically, the
other 12 qualified during a competition in Surabaya, East Java,
in May.

The 12 qualifiers are Hanggar, BBPS, Bandung Selection, Nine-
Ball, Gerbang, Metro, Spot Cirebon, Galaksi, MBPS, Marina
Pratama, Bola Dunia Surabaya and Bali Billiard. --JP
