20 people arrested for drugs, guns

JAKARTA (JP): As many as 20 people were arrested by the
Central Jakarta District Police during impromptu raids conducted
on two discotheques here early on Thursday morning, aimed at
uncovering illegal drugs and weapons.

Twelve people were taken into custody for being under the
influence of drugs while five others were arrested for possessing
drugs, according to the operation's head Comr. Paulus Waterpaw.

Paulus said that the police confiscated 45 ecstasy pills from
patrons of Millennium Disco on Jl. Gadjah Mada and Exotic Disco
on Jl. Mangga Besar.

Police were still questioning the detainees on Thursday.(04)
