160 houses damaged in Medan after storm

MEDAN, North Sumatra: A storm hit Medan municipality and the neighboring regency of Deli Serdang here for two hours on Wednesday night, damaging some 160 houses.

Several houses were damaged after their roofs were ripped off in gale-force winds, while others were damaged by falling trees. No fatalities were reported. -- JP
