16 players join SEAG team

SEMARANG (JP): Sixteen basketball players from seven clubs have joined the centralized training for the Kuala Lumpur Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in September.

The Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) official in charge of athletes development Rukanda said on Friday that the 16 players would be reduced to 12.

Rukanda said the ongoing first leg of the national basketball league, Kobatama, result would not influence the Games squad.

"Even though there are good players in the league, who have yet to join the team, we may not call them due to the limited time to groom players for the Games." (har)
