12-year-old boy arrested for drugs
TANGERANG: Tangerang Police arrested a 12-year old boy on Thursday for trafficking drugs at Sudimara railway station in Jombang subdistrict, Ciputat district, Tangerang.
The police seized 21 envelopes of marijuana from the suspect, identified only as Yakub, a junior high-school dropout.
Tangerang Police chief detective Adj. Comr. Kustanto said Yakub was arrested after the police had caught two other suspects identified as Ayub, 17, and Adi Junaedi, 18, for possessing 0.5 grams of marijuana.
"Both Ayub and Adi testified that they had obtained the drugs from Yakub at Sudimara railway station," Kustanto said.
When the police questioned Yakub, the latter claimed he had got the drugs from his neighbor Samsudin, alias Icang, 32.
Icang, who was arrested at his house later in the day, said he obtained the drugs from an Acehnese, known only as Tengku, who is still at large.--JP
