12 new judges for antigraft court

JAKARTA: The Supreme Court has named 12 new ad hoc judges to hear corruption cases handled by the Corruption Eradication Commission and appeal cases at higher courts.

Suparno, the Supreme Court director for law and the judiciary, said on Thursday six judges would sit in the anti-corruption court in Jakarta. They are Andi Bachtiar, Anwar, Slamet Subagio, Hendra Yospin, Solfialdi and Ugo. Surya Jaya, Amiek Sumindriyatmi and M. Hadi Widodo will sit in the high court, while Leopold Luhut Hutagalung, Odjak Parulian Simanjuntak and Sophian Marthabaya will sit in the Supreme Court.

Currently, the anti-corruption court has nine ad hoc judges and six career judges. -- JP
