12 arrested for alleged murder
BOGOR (JP): Police have arrested 12 of 15 men believed to have mobbed a villager from Cikeas, Sukaraja district, to death, a police officer said.
Bogor Police chief Lt. Col. Ade Husen Kertanegara said on Thursday the 12 arrested men included Roni, 20, Holid, 39, Ahmad, 32, Supriatna, 27, and Ibrahim, 25.
Police confiscated swords, knives and bamboo bars allegedly used during the attack, he said.
Ade said the 12 men were mobbed the victim, identified as Nurdin Natarimba, 21, to death, following a quarrel between Nurdin and Acong on April 23 last year.
"The victim accused Acong of stealing logs belonging to the victim's uncle," Ade said.
After breaking into Acong's house, Nurdin threatened Acong with a samurai sword. Acong shouted for help, Ade said.
At least 15 of his neighbors responded to the call and mobbed Nurdin to death, he said, adding: "Acong is not detained since he was not involved in the fight". (24/jun)
