1,000 students set kite flying record

JAKARTA: One thousand junior high school students from 89
schools set a new record by flying about 400 kites on Sunday at
Ancol East Beach, Jakarta.

The record will be registered in the Indonesian Record Museum
(MURI), according to Corporate Affairs Director of PT Coca Cola
Indonesia, Titie Sadarini.

The program was held to launch pineapple flavored Fanta
produced by the company which lasted for about three hours.

Each group of five students were given two kites and colored
pencils to decorate them while the jury included Dwi Koendoro, a
cartoonist, and Djati Garudaya, a professional kite flyer from
Yogyakarta.--Antara
