1 killed, 3 injured in bus accident

PURWOKERTO, Central Java: One person was killed and three
others were seriously injured when an overloaded public bus
plunged into a 20-meter-deep ravine in the village of Pageralang,
Kemranjen district, Central Java.

The victim was identified as 40-year-old Sunarni who died
instantly at the scene while the injured were the Tani Jaya bus
driver Hadi Sunarno, 46; Tariyah, 38, a resident of Jl. Daan
Mogot, West Jakarta and Moh. Badawi, 41 who resided in
Bojongsari, Purbalingga.

The driver of the bus, which was heading toward Solo from
Purwokerto, apparently failed to control his vehicle when it
reached the village as the road featured steep dips and sharp
