Jessica Parker, 'HBO' announce deal
LOS ANGELES: Sex and the City is over but Sarah Jessica Parker and HBO are still an item.
The star of the hit HBO comedy that ended last year has signed a two-year deal to develop and produce series and other programming for the premium cable channel through her production company.
"I'm overjoyed to be able to officially call HBO my creative home," Parker said in a statement.
Playing single woman Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City, Parker earned Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards. The 1998-2004 series received three Golden Globes and an Emmy for best comedy.
The deal between HBO and Parker's Pretty Matches Productions was announced Tuesday by Carolyn Strauss, president of HBO Entertainment.
Parker is now filming The Family Stone for director Thomas Bezucha, and has other upcoming film projects, including Failure to Launch. -- AP
