Chairman of the National Mandate Party (PAN), Zulkifli Hasan,\nassesses that the Israeli and United States attack on Iran has caused a\nglobal energy crisis. According to him, the conflict does not only\nimpact the Middle East but also extends to Europe and ASEAN.<\/p>\n
Zulhas\u2014as Zulkifli Hasan is known\u2014admits that he sometimes has\ntrouble sleeping when seeing the current geopolitical conflicts.\nAccording to him, the conflicts happening today are truly beyond human\nreason. He even described the attack as a barbaric act.<\/p>\n
\u201cI sometimes, Mr Hatta (Hatta Rajasa, former PAN chairman), have\ntrouble sleeping. Seeing America-Israel attacking Iran, it\u2019s hard to\nsleep. It\u2019s beyond reason, beyond human bounds. I think it\u2019s barbaric,\nespecially now against Palestine in Gaza,\u201d he said while opening the PAN\n2026 National Conference at the PAN DPP Office on Tuesday\n(31\/3\/2026).<\/p>\n
According to him, Indonesia cannot do much to prevent the conflict\noccurring in the Middle East. He assesses that what can be done now is\nonly to pray that the conflict can end soon.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd we can\u2019t do anything except pray. That makes us unable to, hard\nto sleep,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Zulhas stated that the conflict in the Middle East impacts various\nparts of the world, including ASEAN. Even, several countries have\nannounced energy emergency states.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf we look again, Pakistan and India are starting to queue up. Even\nblackouts. In Latin America, there are blackouts, people riding bicycles\nbecause there\u2019s no petrol anymore,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Nevertheless, according to him, Indonesia has anticipated the impact\nof that conflict.
