Yusuf reelected KPKPN chief<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: Yusuf Syakir was reelected on Thursday as the
\nchairman of the Public Servants' Wealth Audit Commission (KPKPN),
\nbeating Lili Asdjudiredja, who was later appointed the deputy
\nchairman in charge of the judiciary branch.<\/p>\n
After his reelection, Yusuf, who has been non-active in the
\nUnited Development Party, pledged to continue demands for a
\njudicial review of the Anticorruption Commission Law No. 30\/2002,
\nas well as for the amendment of Law No. 28\/1999 on clean
\ngovernment.<\/p>\n
The two laws have been perceived to be the stumbling blocks in
\nKPKPN's efforts to eradicate corruption, collusion and nepotism
\nin the country. Law No. 30\/2002 orders the dissolution of KPKPN,
\npending the formation of the anticorruption commission within a
\nyear after the law comes into effect.<\/p>\n
Besides Lili, another new face in the KPKPN leadership was M.
\nWierdan, who was appointed the commission's deputy chairman in
\ncharge of assets belonging to state company officials.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Abdullah Hehamahua and Muchayat maintained their
\npositions as the deputy chairmen in charge of legislative and
