        "content": "<p>JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights,\nImmigration, and Corrections (Menko Kumham Imipas), Yusril Ihza\nMahendra, stated that the trial for the acid attack on Deputy\nCoordinator of Kontras, Andrie Yunus, is still within the military court\nsystem to date.<\/p>\n<p>This is because, according to Yusril, no civilian perpetrators have\nyet been designated as suspects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf currently no suspects from the civilian sector have been found,\nthen the adjudication is entirely under the military court,\u201d Yusril said\nat the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Friday (10\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>In the relevant regulations, it is stipulated that any active TNI\nmember who commits a criminal offence shall be tried in a military\ncourt.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the current Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) does\nregulate matters of connectivity cases involving civilian and active TNI\nelements.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo now there is a provision in the KUHAP on connectivity, which was\ndiscussed previously if there are military suspects and civilian\nsuspects. But up to today, no civilian suspects have been found, so it\nwill entirely fall under the jurisdiction of the military court,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of the attack, Andrie suffered an injury to his right eye\nand 20 percent burns to his body from being doused with acid.<\/p>\n<p>From the investigation, four personnel from the TNI Strategic\nIntelligence Agency (BAIS) have been designated as suspects in\nconnection with alleged involvement in the incident.<\/p>\n<p>They are Captain NDP, Lieutenant SL, Lieutenant BHW, and Sergeant\nES.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects are charged under Article 467 of the Criminal Code for\nplanned assault, with a prison sentence threat of a minimum of four\nyears and a maximum of seven years.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, the Kontras activist sent a letter to the Constitutional\nCourt (MK), specifically to the judges handling the judicial review case\nof the TNI Law.<\/p>\n<p>The letter was read during a civil society solidarity action in front\nof the MK building on Wednesday (8\/4\/2026) by the Deputy Director of\nImparsial, Hussein Ahmad.<\/p>",
