Malang, East Java (ANTARA) - Presidential Special Staff for the\nCreative Economy, Yovie Widianto, urged students to continue honing\ntheir talents so as not to become dependent on artificial intelligence\n(AI) technology.<\/p>\n
In his presentation at the Glow Innovation Talks event in the\nAuditorium of Brawijaya University, Malang City, East Java, on\nWednesday, Yovie stated that talents continuously improved would produce\nindividual competencies.<\/p>\n
\u201cCompetency skills have a longer lifetime; do not just rely on AI\nbecause you all need to be trained,\u201d said Yovie.<\/p>\n
In the creative production process, creators need to know that there\nare boundaries that must not be crossed because they concern\nintellectual property in AI training data.<\/p>\n
On that occasion, he also shared his experiences on how the\ndevelopment of music production processes evolved from the era of\ncassette tapes, compact discs or CDs, to digital.<\/p>\n
In the cassette tape era, creating a musical work was considered more\ncomplex, as any single mistake would require restarting the entire\nprocess from the beginning.<\/p>\n
Therefore, it is no surprise that musicians from the 1970s-1980s had\nproficient abilities due to frequent practice in various aspects, such\nas scales, before entering the recording production room.<\/p>\n
\u201cThen advancing to CD technology, which was easier, at that time\nthere were 24 tracks, and now the technology is very advanced with the\nbirth of AI and so on; if it\u2019s out of tune, it can be directly edited,\u201d\nhe said.<\/p>\n
Yovie urged students to use AI as a medium to bring benefits to other\nhumans.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Centre for Innovation and Technology\nTransfer at Brawijaya University, Dias Satria, stated that the emergence\nof AI is not intended to replace human roles but to complement\nprocesses, such as research and development.<\/p>\n
He conveyed that a work will have higher value when its process is\ncarried out naturally and organically.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe market can already distinguish products that are fully\nAI-generated, half using AI, and minimally using AI. Earlier, Mas Yovie\nalso mentioned that too much AI results in very low added value,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
He explained that Brawijaya University is also using AI for\ndevelopment in various fields.<\/p>\n
