        "content": "<p>YouTuber Adimas Firdaus Putra Nasihan, known as Resbob, attended his\nfirst hearing at Bandung District Court in connection with allegations\nof defaming the Sundanese ethnic group.<\/p>\n<p>In the indictment read by the public prosecutor, Resbob faces a\npotential four-year prison sentence for his actions.<\/p>\n<p>However, during the initial hearing, Resbob immediately filed an\nobjection or exception. This legal manoeuvre was not intended to\nchallenge the substance of the indictment, but rather to dispute the\nrelative jurisdictional competence of the court hearing the case.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn essence, what we will respond to in the form of a challenge, in\naccordance with the applicable Criminal Procedure Code, concerns the\nauthority of the court adjudicating the alleged criminal act. In our\nview, the more appropriate venue would be the Surabaya Court,\u201d said\nFidelis Giawa, the defendant\u2019s legal counsel, as quoted by detikcom on\nMonday (23 February).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause, as outlined, the incident took place in Surabaya,\u201d he\nadded.<\/p>\n<p>Regarding the substance of the indictment, which states that Resbob\ndefamed the Viking supporter group and the Sundanese people, Fidelis\nsaid there was no motive of dislike or hatred behind the actions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was absolutely no motive to hurt the feelings of any ethnic\ngroup or particular community \u2014 that was never the intention,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about reports that Resbob had committed similar acts\nbefore, Fidelis stated that his team had only received one report in\nconnection with the case. \u201cBased on the examination, it only happened\nonce,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fidelis stressed that his client deeply regretted what he had done to\nthe Viking community and the Sundanese people. \u201cHe regrets it and deeply\nregrets it, and a public statement of remorse has already been made as\npart of a reconciliation,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>",
