Youth killed by student mob<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A youth was killed yesterday during a scuffle
\nwith students in Poncol, Central Jakarta.<\/p>\n
An officer at the Senen police precinct said that Pepen, 19,
\nwas stabbed with a sharp object in the left side of his neck.<\/p>\n
Eyewitnesses said the victim was chased down an alley by a
\nband of senior high school students in uniform before he was
\novertaken and assaulted.<\/p>\n
The police had yet to ascertain yesterday which school the
\nstudents belonged to.<\/p>\n
\"Most of them usually do not wear their school badges and
\nsometimes some of them are not students at all,\" a police officer
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
A local patrol officer said he knew Pepen to be one of a
\nnumber of unemployed troublemakers who often loitered in the
\nneighborhood.<\/p>\n
\"He often threw stones at passing public buses,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Pepen died on the way to Cipto Mangunkusumo general hospital,
\na source at the hospital said.<\/p>\n
Pepen's body was being kept at the hospital for an autopsy,
