"summary": "A GoodStats survey reveals that 51.9% of Indonesian youth are actively investing, with gold emerging as the preferred instrument at 33.6%, reflecting a preference for stability amid economic volatility. Despite crypto's allure for quick gains, its lower popularity compared to gold and equities signals growing caution among young investors, while property remains a niche choice.",
"content": "<p>Indonesian youth\u2019s awareness of the importance of investing continues\nto rise in 2026. Amid dynamic economic conditions and the growth of\ndigital financial services, young people are actively seeking investment\ninstruments deemed safe while offering long-term returns. According to a\nMuda Bicara ID survey, 51.9% of young respondents are currently\ninvesting, while 16% have never invested. A further 32.1% say they\npreviously invested but no longer do. Jewellery gold is the most popular\ninvestment instrument at 33.6%. The high interest in jewellery gold\nindicates that many young people view it not only as an investment asset\nbut also as a functional and aesthetic item. Gold is also considered\nrelatively safe from sharp market fluctuations compared to other\ninvestment instruments, in addition to being easy to trade. The ease of\nopening online investment accounts and increasingly affordable initial\ncapital have made this instrument more appealing to young people.\nPhysical gold investment remains popular at 18.4%, while digital gold is\nchosen by 12.6% of respondents. Cryptocurrency assets also attract young\npeople, with 11.6% interest. Despite high risks from significant price\nvolatility, some youths remain drawn to crypto for its potential for\nquick returns. However, interest in crypto is lower than for gold and\nequities, signalling that many young investors are prioritising safety\nand stability when choosing investment instruments. Meanwhile, land and\nproperty investment is the least favoured, with just 0.7% of respondents\nselecting it. The National Muda Bicara ID Survey was conducted from 1-30\nMarch 2026, involving 800 respondents aged 17-40. Data collection used\ncomputer-assisted self-interviewing, with stratified random sampling to\nensure proportional representation across population subgroups.<\/p>",
