        "content": "<p>Jayapura (ANTARA) - The RI-PNG Mobile Yonif 725\/Woroagi Border\nSecurity Task Force (Satgas Pamtas) has discovered approximately 21,400\ncannabis plants ready for harvest in the Ibiroma Complex, Kurima\nDistrict, Yahukimo Regency, Highland Papua.<\/p>\n<p>Commander of the III Regional Defence Joint Command (Kogabwilhan\nIII), Lieutenant General TNI Lucky Avianto, stated in a press release in\nJayapura on Thursday that the discovery was the result of operations\nconducted by personnel from the RI-PNG Mobile Yonif 725\/Woroagi Task\nForce in the Yahukimo Regency area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn Wednesday (9\/9), we discovered a cannabis field where a\nsignificant quantity was found, and the plants at the location were\nestimated to be ready for harvest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Lucky, the discovery is part of the authorities\u2019 efforts\nto prevent the distribution and abuse of narcotics in the Papua region,\nparticularly in areas with difficult-to-reach geographical\nconditions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe existence of cannabis fields in that area is a concern for the\nauthorities because they have the potential to become a source of\nnarcotics circulation that can harm the community,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>After discovering the field, Task Force personnel took actions in\naccordance with procedures to secure the location and the evidence of\nthe cannabis plants found.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will continue to increase security activities and patrols in the\nassigned area to prevent the emergence of illegal activities that could\ndisturb public security; therefore, steps are needed to prevent and\neradicate the circulation of narcotics in the assigned area,\u201d he further\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>Lucky added that this success demonstrates the importance of the\npresence of personnel in the field to monitor areas with heavy terrain\nand difficult access.<\/p>",
