        "content": "<p>Yogyakarta\u2019s Special Region (DIY) economy grew by 5.49 per cent\ncumulatively in 2025. Several industries contributed to this growth,\nincluding the processing industry, accommodation and food services,\nconstruction, forestry, and agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>In response to these figures, the Financial Services Authority (OJK)\nin DIY remained committed to enhancing financial literacy amongst the\npopulation. \u201cThroughout 2025, we conducted 17 educational programmes,\nboth offline and online, reaching a total of 2,054 participants,\u201d said\nEko Yunianto, Head of OJK DIY, during a media briefing and joint\nbreaking-of-fast event with OJK and media representatives in Yogyakarta\non Wednesday (11 March 2026).<\/p>\n<p>Eko highlighted several factors contributing to DIY\u2019s economic\ngrowth. The first factor was the substantial increase in tourist\narrivals to DIY during Christmas and the previous year. The second\nfactor was the central government\u2019s intensified Free Nutritious Meal\nProgramme (MBG), launched the previous year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is why DIY\u2019s economic growth in the fourth quarter of last year\ncontributed a significant figure of 5.94 per cent,\u201d Eko stated.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, Eko cautioned that there were upcoming challenges to\nmaintaining DIY\u2019s economic growth. One such challenge was the ongoing\nconflict in the Middle East. \u201cI see that the global economy is fraught\nwith uncertainty. We must continue to monitor this development,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n<p>He remained optimistic that financial literacy among DIY\u2019s population\nwould continue to increase. This was indicated by the growing number of\ncomplaints filed by the public via OJK. \u201cThere were 288 complaints\nthroughout last year, with 48.3 per cent relating to banking, followed\nby 31.3 per cent relating to capital markets,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>OJK DIY was also aware of the increasing number of financial\ntransaction fraud schemes affecting the population. Therefore, OJK DIY\nconducted a simulation on how to file complaints via the Indonesia\nAnti-Scam Centre (IASC) through iasc.ojk.go.id.<\/p>",
