        "content": "<p>Yogie okays candidates<\/p>\n<p>MANADO, North Sulawesi: Minister of Home Affairs Moch. Yogie<br>\nS.M. has approved all three of the candidates for the<br>\ngubernatorial election proposed by the North Sulawesi legislative<br>\nassembly.<\/p>\n<p>Assembly chief speaker J.D.P. Takanendengan said he had<br>\nreceived a letter from Yogie consenting to the candidacy of<br>\nAbdullah Mokoginta, Maj. Gen. E.E. Mangindaan and Tangkudung,<br>\nAntara reported.<\/p>\n<p>The election is slated for Jan. 21 and the winner, who will<br>\nserve a five-year term, will replace C.J. Rantung.<\/p>\n<p>Mangindaan, currently the chief of the Army's Staff and<br>\nCommand School, appears to be leading the race. Mokoginta is the<br>\ncurrent vice governor and Tangkudung is rector of the state-run<br>\nSamratulangi university in Manado.<\/p>\n<p>The election's outcome is still subject to Jakarta's approval,<br>\nalthough in the past this had been a mere formality.
