Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2014 The Indonesian Embassy in Yaound\u00e9 has facilitated\na series of inter-university cooperation activities during a visit to\nIndonesia by a delegation from Cameroon and other Central African\ncountries. The visit coincided with events surrounding Trade Expo\nIndonesia (TEI) 2026.<\/p>\n
The initiative forms part of the government\u2019s efforts to expand the\nIndonesia\u2013Cameroon partnership in higher education, research and\nhuman-resource development, the embassy said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
The programme included public lectures at Syarif Hidayatullah State\nIslamic University (UIN) Jakarta and the University of Indonesia;\nexploratory cooperation visits by the University of Ngaound\u00e9r\u00e9 to\nPancasila University and Pertamina University; and the signing of a\nmemorandum of understanding (MoU) on the Three Pillars of Higher\nEducation between the University of Ngaound\u00e9r\u00e9 and Nurul Jadid\nUniversity.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese three types of activity reflect efforts to build academic\nties, explore partnership opportunities and promote practical\ncooperation between higher education institutions in Indonesia and\nCameroon,\u201d the embassy said.<\/p>\n
A key agenda item was the University of Ngaound\u00e9r\u00e9\u2019s exploratory\nvisit to Pancasila University and Pertamina University.<\/p>\n
The visit aimed to explore potential partnerships in higher\neducation, research and academic capacity-building, taking into account\neach institution\u2019s strengths and priorities.<\/p>\n
The MoU on cooperation under the Three Pillars of Higher Education is\nexpected to provide a basis for strengthening the academic partnership\nbetween the two institutions. This may include public lectures,\nexchanges of knowledge and academic perspectives, and cross-border\nintellectual dialogue to broaden the outlook of the academic communities\nand strengthen Indonesia\u2013Cameroon higher education ties, the embassy\nsaid.<\/p>\n
During the public lectures at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and the\nUniversity of Indonesia, the delegation had the opportunity to share\nperspectives, broaden its understanding and hold discussions on academic\nissues and potential cooperation between Indonesia and Cameroon.<\/p>\n
The Yaound\u00e9 embassy hopes the initiatives will lead to concrete,\nsustained programmes, including exchanges of academics and students,\nresearch collaboration and the development of joint education\nprogrammes.<\/p>\n
