Jakarta — A flying car from Xpeng attracted attention at the
Indonesia International Motor Show 2026. During a visit to the
exhibition, the Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional
Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), highlighted the potential
uses of the vehicle. According to AHY, the flying car could be used not
only for mobility and recreation but also has the potential to support
regional surveillance activities and emergency rescue operations.

Hari Arifianto, VP Marketing Xpeng Indonesia, said discussions about
the flying-car technology did arise during AHY’s visit to the Xpeng
booth. He explained the various capabilities of the vehicle, including
range and its utilisations. The aircraft has two main functions:
recreation and flexible mobility. In addition, the vehicle could be
deployed in emergency situations because air routes are deemed the
fastest.

‘If there is an emergency, the fastest transport is by air,’ Hari
said. The vehicle is capable of travelling around 70 kilometres on a
single charge. That distance is considered sufficient for point-to-point
journeys within the city area. ‘70 kilometres one-way is enough to
reach, for example, the city centre, from forests, to recreational spots
around Jakarta heading to central Jakarta,’ Hari added. He noted the
flying car is designed to operate autonomously and fly at low altitudes,
below 500 metres.

Yet Xpeng emphasised that the technology remains an offer of a future
mobility solution rather than a current product.
",
